I live nine months out of the year on the eastern seaboard of China, south of Shanghai, ten minutes from the deepest port of mainland China. The other three months of the year are spent visiting family and friends in America and/or traveling to other countries, such as India and Thailand. I have been to 32 countries so far, but have many more on my Bucket List. I have never been south of Egypt and would love to see more of the African continent. Because Multiply is officially banned in China, I use a proxy to gain access and it's a daily adventure: Will I be able to post another blog or not?" I never know. I teach performing arts to lovely students from kindergarten through high school and I wake up on school mornings exhilarated about my job. (well, the bliss tends to set in AFTER my first cup of Starbucks Extra Bold.) I love my friends. I love clothes and shoes and perfume and all things "girly". I love to find ways to incorporate stunning Asian antiques and art into my home and lifestyle. I love to cook delicious foods for every single meal. I love to study the Bible - I find that its depths literally jump out at me when reading in a posture of prayer. I enjoy discovering other authors and books and words that stir my soul. I love to exercise - to push my body beyond what I think it can do. My favorite form of exercise is Callanetics, which is a combination of yoga and ballet. I am passionate and serious about life and knowing God, who is my ultimate purpose and joy. I am the author of one book, "Scandalon", which tells my journey from despair to hope...(it's available on Amazon) I am working on writing more books, but it's a challenge to find time while teaching full-time. But that's okay, God is the owner of Time. It will happen when it's meant to. In the meantime, I am busy and fulfilled living a great life that has its meaning all wrapped in the person of God. He gives me strength and security, peace and a WHOLE lot of irrational crazy-joy.
